It's even better, you'll likely think as you stand in the entry, pleased that you picked the right place. You'll slowly take it all in. Calming colors. Simple but nice furnishings. The Sony perfect picture HDTV. French doors that open to unite the two largest rooms and close to create a secluded hideaway when its time for a break. An open kitchen stocked with every utensil you’ll need. The maple bed in the upstairs guest room that does double duty, as a full sized bed for a visiting couple, or a bunk bed for the kids. And the splendid master bedroom that somehow brings up memories of that once-in-a-lifetime weekend you two shared long ago. Later, you'll recline out front, while others are off exploring the town or making new friends around South Alder Park’s community fireplace. And as your body rests, your mind is at play, reliving memories of events that have yet to take place. Such as watching sunrise from the sunroom, fresh coffee in hand. Sharing French toast and bacon with the rest of the gang. Tooling ‘round town astride sturdy beach cruisers. Shedding beach toys, sandals and sand dollars, on the sunroom floor at the end of a trip to the beach. Then some well-deserved down time, maybe spent reading, or snoozing in the wicker chair, or roaming forest trails that begin at your porch, in search of rumored gnomes and fairies, the elusive Pregnant Pine, or Lu-Lu, the pale green beach cruiser that, legend has it, escaped from captivity to return to the wild. Maybe you’ll find your mind wanders beyond this trip, imagining trips not yet planned. The Winter Storm Weekend - just an excuse, really, to rekindle ties with those best-friends-forever with whom you’ve lost touch. Reboot Weekend - a January trip to cure your holiday induced exhaustion. Change of Scene Weekend - a March trip to remedy the family’s cabin fever back home, a time when board games, coloring books and favorite DVDs take center stage. Just the Two of Us Getaway - a bold, courageous three day mid-week escape, where you and your special someone turn your backs to the world and become reacquainted over long walks, a special dinner out, and quiet moments illuminated by the glow of the woodstove’s fire. And, of course, The Annual Family Vacation - a week devoted to creating new memories, to place beside those you are poised to create this week. But maybe you’ll hear that spoil-sport voice in the back of your mind whisper “Slow down,” reminding you not to get too carried away with all these wild dreams of yours.
